GLADIATORS SPOIL JDT FINE RUN

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: ATM 2 - JDT 1

Johor Darul Takzim title chase was dented by the rising Armed Forces at Selayang Stadium. JDT wanted to collect 3 points and Bojan Hodak team played offensive approach that includes Norshahrul Idlan, Luciano Figueroa and Pereyra Diaz in the starting line-up. At the other end, B. Sathianathan waited with a more defensive set-up.

The visitors pushed heavily from the starts, but ATM's Syed Adney produced a few good saves. Despite playing under pressure from JDT, the Gladiators took the lead in the 40th minute. Bruno Martelotto cleverly beat Izham Tarmizi after receiving a pass from Fabrics Noël. ATM held their lead until the break.

Bojan made an immediate change at the start of the second half bringing on midfield schemer Safiq Rahim for Shakir Shaari. Though, it was not enough to break the Gladiators. ATM doubled their lead. Affizie Faizal found Noël in acres of space on the right and gleefully accepted the return pass to slot home the ball beyond the despairing dive of Izham.

Bojan Hodak sent Nazrin Nawi and Amirulhadi Zainal to add more speed in the attacks. JDT finally found the net in the 85th minute. As they were looking for an equaliser, Aidil Zafuan got the red card for handling the referee. Sathianathan's boys held tight until the final whistle. It could be an important 3 points for ATM to stay in the Super League.
