Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) displayed a brilliant performance to beat Kitchee FC from Hong Kong 2-0 in a Group F AFC Cup match last night. Backed by 10,000 fans at the Larkin Stadium, the home side did not give much space for their opponent throughout the match.
Luciano Figueroa gave JDT a dream start by finishing off a pass from Safiq Rahim in the 17th minute. The Southern Tigers put more pressure onto Kitchee FC and finally got a penalty when S. Kunanlan was brought down inside the box. Safiq calmly sent the ball into the net in the 42nd minute to make it 2-0. The win gave JDT the top spot in Group F and will face East Bengal in their next AFC Cup match on April 28.
