JDT HELD BY TEN MAN PKNS

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: PKNS 1 - JOHOR DT 1

Ten man PKNS braved the storm to hold Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) for a 1-1 draw at Shah Alam Stadium. The star-studded JDT failed failed to make their numerical advantage tell as the homeside held strong to keep the score until the final whistle.

JDT named Daudsu Jamaluddin in the first eleven, which is his first start this season, while defender Mahali Jasuli was assigned to the right flank. The cash-rich Southern Tigers had only themselves to blame for the draw. They had plenty of opportunities but just could not find the net.

Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh opened the scoring in the 36th minute for PKNS after he sent a rebound past goalkeeper Mohd Izham Tarmizi.

Safee Sali and Safiq Rahim was sent in for the second half to replace Mohd Nurul Azwan Roya and Shakir Saari. The immediate effect was awesome as Safee came close to putting his name on the scoresheet in the 47th minute, but his attempt from outside the box was saved by PKNS goalkeeper Mohd Zamir Selamat

However, JDT found the equaliser through winger Mahali Jasuli nine minutes later. PKNS were reduced to 10 men after veteran defender P. Gunalan picked up a second booking in the 86th minute for a foul on Safee. Despite having the extra player on the field, JDT failed to find the most needed winner.
