BRAZIL HITS AUSTRALIA WITH SIX GOALS

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY: BRAZIL 6 - AUSTRALIA 0

Brazil brought down Australia in a one-sided international friendly in Brasilia. The Confederations Cup champions netted six goals in as they were hardly tested by the 46th-ranked Australia who had already qualified for 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

The home side opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Jo tabbed in a rebound from Bernard volley. The Barcelona forward added his second in the 33rd minute, before the influential Neymar scored Bazil's third in the 35th minute.

Brazil came on in the second half like a routine as they scored another three goals. Ramires, Alexandre Pato and Luis Gustavo added their name to a scoreline that did not flatter the hosts. The only sour note for Brazil was a left hamstring injury to Real Madrid left-back Marcelo, which forced him to miss the second half.
