SOUTH AFRICA 2 - FRANCE 1


France exited the World Cup at the first round stage with barely a whimper after this humbling defeat by the host nation at the Free State Stadium.

On a day of drama Raymond Domenech stripped Patrice Evra of the captaincy and handed the armband to Alou Diarra instead. Then the coach, set to be replaced by Laurent Blanc, saw his side reduced to 10 men after 26 minutes of this Group A game when Yoann Gourcuff was sent off.

South Africa took advantage with Bongani Khumalo and Katlego Mphela both finding the target. Although Florent Malouda stepped off the bench to pull a goal back France are heading home early.

Evra was dropped after the squad boycotted a training session after striker Nicolas Anelka was expelled following a row with Domenech. The Manchester United full-back cut a lonely figure on the bench on another dreadful day for France.

It was a bitter sweet win for South Africa as they have become the first host nation to be eliminated at the first round stage of the finals.

SIME DARBY STUNNED SELANGOR IN SHAH ALAM

​ MALAYSIA CUP: SELANGOR 1 - SIME DARBY 2 Selangor failed to utilised their home advantage against Sime Darby in another Malaysia Cup match. The Red Giants were beaten 1-2 by Sime Darby. The home side did not show enough determination, while Sime Darby displayed a brilliant performance and threaten Selangor's quarter final chance. The first half ended with goalless.  ​ Ahmad Hazwan Bakri put Selangor ahead after receiving a pass from Paulo Rangel in the 63rd minute. But Sime Darby did not sit back after the goal. The Giant Killers increased their efforts and earned the equalizer through Fahrul Razi Kamaruddin in the 75th minute. ​ Just eight minute later, Mateo Roskam scored the winner and stunned the fans at the Shah Alam Stadium. It is a sweet victory for the visitors after losing 2-0 in Selayang last Saturday. Selangor stay second with six points while T-Team and Sime Darby FC are tied with three points each. SIME DARBY HOLD JDT IN SELAYANG

​MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SIME DARBY 1 - JDT 1 Sime Darby stunned star studded Johor Darul Takzim  after holding them at the Selayang Stadium on Saturday. The winless home side collected their first point in the 1-1 draw with last season Super League Champions.   Sime Darby took the lead in the 35th minute through Muhammad Nazrul Kamarulzaman . Nazrul tapped-in Nemanja Vidakovic effort just four minutes after he was introduced into the game to replace the injured Mohd Firdaus Azizul . JDT doubled their efforts in search of the equaliser but Sime Darby held on until the break. ​Bojan Hodak sent in Mahali Jasuli to provide more attacking options. JDT finally got the equalizer on the hour mark when Junior Eldstal fired in Mohd Amri Yahyah 's cross. The Southern Tigers continued to press for the winner but Sime Darby held on to collect their first point of the season.
