CLASS OF 92 AND GEMPITA BARRACUDA WIN PRESSTIJ FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The STJ Class of 92 defeated Pistorel X 2-1 to win the Junior Pro category at the PRESSTiJ Futsal Championship on Saturday. Amir Astar opened the scoring with a powerful shot to give 92 the lead. However, Pistorel equalized two minutes later.

It was a very close match but the experience of 92 was an advantage. Helmy Baidullah's strike hit the crossbar, Ahmad Tajuddin was solid, Ziad Fazaruddin saved a handful of attempts. Manager Nazbiha Maulana sent Fadzil Hisham in the second half and scored the winner after receiving a pass from Saiful Rizal Mohamad. It was a perfect finish for Class of 92 in their championship debut.

In the Senior Pro category, Gempita Barracuda beat Gempita Achilles in an all 91 final after penalty shoot out. Mat Jimie Ali found the net in the first half to put Barracuda into the driving seat. Achilles was not giving it up easily to their brothers and staged a good fighting spirit.

Mohd Azhari Mastuki scored a stunning equalizer in the second half to put both team levels again. The match ended 1-1, and the champions have to be decided by penalties. Barracuda edged Achilles in the shoot-outs to claim the title.
