WORLD CUP QUALIFYING: MALAYSIA 0 - PALESTINE 6
Malaysia fell to a 6-0 defeat against Palestine in their 2018 World Cup Qualifier match at the Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. Palestine almost found the net just two minutes after the kick-off but Tamer Seyam's attempt flew over the bar. However, the visitors opened the scoring seven minutes later through Musab Battat strike.
Malaysia almost got the breakthrough but Amri Yahya's shot tipped over the bar by Palestine keeper Tawfiq Abuhammad. The visitors doubled their lead in the 22nd minute after Sameh Maraaba tapped into the net after receiving a pass from Matias Hadwa. Seyam then got on the score sheet himself after beating three defenders.
Malaysia tried to fight back early in the second half, but the visitors were too brilliant to be beaten. Hadwa dribbled through two Malaysian defenders before sending the ball to Khader Yousef for an easy header into the net in the 69th minute. Maraaba then grabbed his second of the night with a well-placed header in the last 15 minutes before Seyam sealed Pelestine's biggest ever international victory.
