DORTMUND BEAT JDT IN ASIAN TOUR FRIENDLY

​FRIENDLY: JOHOR DT 1 - BORRUSIA DORTMUND 6

Borussia Dortmund thrashed Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) in a friendly match at Larkin Stadium on Thursday. The German powerhouse had Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gundogan, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in their starting line-up. Dortmund took the lead through a free kick taken by Gundogan in the 22nd minute which beat JDT goalkeeper Mohd Farizal Marlias.

​​The eight-time Bundesliga champions doubled their lead when Aubameyang tapped the ball home following a low cross by Marcel Schmelzer. JDT had a defensive mistake in the 32nd minute between Mohd Farizal and Asraruddin Putra Omar which allowed Kevin Kampl to slot in the third goal. The Southern Tigers managed to pull a goal back when midfielder Gary Steven Robbat, who had trained with the German club for six month, slammed the ball pass Roman Weidenfeller in the 39th minute.

​The second half did not turn better for the home side. Japanese star Shinji Kagawa made it 4-1 in the 73rd minute from a cross by his compatriot Maruoka Mitsuro. JDT brought in Mohd Izham Tarmizi Roslan to replace Farizal, but he was beaten by Jeremy Calvin Dudziak in the 81st minute. Marco Reus completed the rout in the 90th minute with a good finishing inside JDT's area. Dortmund completed their Asian Tour friendly match with another big win over JDT after beating Japanese J-League club, Kawasaki Frontale 6-0 two days earlier.

It was a valuable 3 points for Perak after an exciting away match. Perak could have scored more from many opportunities, but PKNS defended well towards the end. JDT WINS 2014 MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE

​ MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SARAWAK 0 - JDT 1   Star-studded Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) clinched the coveted Super League title in style by beating Sarawak 1-0 at the State Stadium in Kuching. Matches played were the final fixtures in the 2014 Super League season which came to a close last night. JDT who finished with 44 points pocketed RM500,000 while second placed Selangor accumulated 41 points while Pahang with 37 points finished third.   Selangor finished as the runner-up after managing only a 2-2 draw against relegated PKNS FC at the Shah Alam Stadium. Argentina import Jorge Pereyra Diaz was the toast of JDT after squeezing in the winner in the 66th. Apart from winning the Super League title, JDT also earned a ticket to play in the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC Cup ) for the second time after 2009. MANCHESTER CITY WIN FIFTH PREMIER LEAGUE IN SIX SEASON

Manchester City bagged their third consecutive Premier League title after Nottingham Forest defeated Arsenal 1-0 on Saturday evening.  Under Pep Guardiola, City has won the title five times in the last six seasons. The Premier League is the first of a potential treble this season. They will play against Manchester United in the FA Cup final, and the Inter Milan in the Champions League final next month. Arsenal had an eight-point lead over City in January, but Guardiola’s side have overhauled them with three games to spare. Erling Haaland’s 36 goals in the league have been crucial to City’s success.
