SELANGOR HELD BY AREMA IN AFC CUP OPENING MATCH

AFC CUP: SELANGOR 1 - AREMA 1 Arema Indonesia salvaged a point from their AFC Cup Group F opener against Selangor as a late goal by Nigeria-born Indonesia international defender Victor Igbonefo earned them a 1-1 draw against the Malaysia side at Selayang Stadium on Tuesday. There was a lively atmosphere during the match with fans of both teams providing vocal support well before kick-off. Arema enjoyed early good possession but they were caught out in the ninth minute when the home side broke quickly with Indonesian forward Andik Vermansyah playing a delightful through ball to Paulo Rangel , who drilled the ball past Arema goalkeeper Kurnia Meiga Hermansyah to give his side the lead. Abdul Shukur squandered the Red Giants ' best chance in the 52nd minute when he shot wide after finding himself in a one-on-one situation with Hermansyah. KELANTAN IN THE SEMIFINALS AGAIN

FA CUP: PKNS FC 3(5) - KELANTAN 3(6) Kelantan moved into the FA Cup semifinals after getting the needed results in their second leg quarterfinal matches. The Defending Champions were held to a 3-3 draw in Selayang by a gritty PKNS FC , but the result was enough to send them into the last four with 6-5 on aggregate, after winning the first leg in Kota Baru 3-2. The Red Warriors (TRW) were dragged into full throttle by PKNS in the thriller at MPS Stadium. The match could have gone into extra-time but striker Mohamed Ghaddar ’s wrapped it on time. The Lebanese netted Kelantan’s third goal after PKNS had taken a 3-2 lead with 19 minutes remaining, through a header by Indonesian defender Hamka Zakaria . The Red Ants got off to a roaring start, grabbing the lead in the second minute through Patrick Ronaldinho , which neutralised Kelantan’s one-goal cushion from the first leg. SIME DARBY HELD BY PKNS

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SIME DARBY 0 - PKNS 0 Sime Darby FC failed to benefit from their home ground advantage after being held by PKNS FC on Friday. The match at the MPS Stadium in Selayang saw both team failed to find the net. The home side started with Mahmoud Al Amna and Wisdom Agblexo in the line-up. Though they failed to grab the winner throughout the 90 minutes. PKNS Karlo Primorac was largely isolated without strike partner Patrick Ronaldinho . The Liberian was left out of the line-up after picking up a knock in the FA Cup match against Kelantan in Kota Baru last Tuesday.  Midfielder Nazmi Faiz Mansor was also absent through suspension. GLADIATORS FELL TO LIONS

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: ATM 1 - LIONS XII 2 ATM failed to claim three vital points when they lost 1-2 to the Lions XII at Selayang Stadium on Saturday.  ATM started perfectly with an early goal. The Gladiators took the lead as early as in the fourth minute when Amiridzwan Taj found the net. Second half turned alright for the Lions. They were more dangerous in the attacks. Lions equalized from Khairul Amri goal in the 47th minute before Afiq Yunos scored the winning goal in the last minute of the match. FELDA HELD BY SARAWAK IN SELAYANG

FA CUP: FELDA UNITED 0 - SARAWAK 0 Felda United hosted Sarawak in one of the FA Cup quarterfinal clash at the MPS Selayang Stadium last night. Despite playing on home ground, Felda failed to find the winner. It was the Crocs defenders who played amazingly.  The home side launched numerous attacks against their visitors from the kick-off. However, the match was pretty balanced in the first half.  Felda returned to the field with a more commanding approach. They had a better posession throughout the second half. Sarawak also had a few opportunities on Felda's goal, but they just could not find the net. The score remained until full time and the winner will be decided in the second leg match in Kuching . RANGEL'S DOUBLE SENDS SELANGOR TO THE TOP AGAIN

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: SIME DARBY 1 - SELANGOR 2   Paulo Rangel sends Selangor back on top of the Malaysia Super League after scoring a brace against Sime Darby last night. Though, Selangor did not start well as they conceded first when Sime Darby's Mohd Failee opened the scoring in the second minute. The Sime Darby forward completed a cross from Farderin Kadir . Selangor took sometimes before they really got into the game. Paulo Rangel finally levelled the score for the Red Giants as he easily slotted in for the equaliser in the 40th minute. Both team returned for the second-half and the search for a winner carried on. Mehmet Durokovic made a tactical change in the 75th minute. Abdul Hadi Yahya and Andik Vermanshah were sent it and Selangor's tempo immediately changed.  Rangel grabbed the winner for Selangor with a powerful header in the 84th minute after receiving from Abdul Hadi. It is his fifth goal of the season and the Red Giants are looking good on top o

SARAWAK TAKES FULL POINTS FROM PKNS

MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE: PKNS 0 vs SARAWAK 2 Sarawak continued their good run by defeating PKNS at Selayang Stadium. The Crocs did not wait long when striker, Milorad Janjus opened the scoring less than 10 minute after kick-off. The home side was stunned with another goal by away team just 5 minute later, and this time the Sarawak defender, Gabor Gyepes found the net after receiving a pass in the mess situation in front PKNS goalpost. PKNS created a few chances but failed to convert any of it until the break.   As the second half started, both teams played in same tempo. Both team created opportunities to score goal but failed in their attempt. The result remained until the end.  Winning two consecutive away games after beating Selangor in the FA Cup at MBPJ Stadium last week is good sign for Sarawak.
