BAYERN MUNICH IS CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE AGAIN

It was a magical night when Arjen Robben 's 89th-minute winner took the European Champions League trophy to Munich for the fifth time after previous final disappointments in 2010 and 2012. Bayern Munich started with seven players from last year's final line up against Chelsea . The game had started at breakneck speed and there was no let-up as play swung from end to end in the blink of an eye, with opportunities coming thick and fast. With two minutes remaining, Ribery backheeled the ball through for Robben, who took the ball away from Neven Subotc , shaped to go around Weidenfeller , and then squeezed the ball to the goalkeeper's left, a marvelously neat and inventive finish. It was a story of redemption for Robben and his team. The player had suffered disappointments in the past three years, the three defeats in finals, two with Bayern and one with the Netherlands in the 2010 World Cup final.
